David Blaine

To Levitate is to rise or cause to rise into the air and float in apparent defiance of gravity; the phenomenon of a person or thing rising into the air by apparently supernatural means. When you hear the word "levitation" who is the first person to come to mind? For me, it's David Blaine.

When David Blaine was 16, his doctor took him in for examination after he levitated for him. He moved to New York when he was 17 lived in Hell's Kitchen, a place which quickly tests your mettle.

David Performed at many rich parties. He performed for (and impressed, celebrities such as Jack Nicolson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Madonna.

After ABC saw a tape that he sent them they were so impressed that they requested an interview. They quickly made a TV special called David Blaine: Street Magic.

On April 5, 1999, David performed a very daring stunt. He buried himself alive under almost 6 feet of plexiglass and 4000 pounds of water for a week. Of course you can assume that he was invited to be on many talk shows after that. He was on Conan, Rosie, and Regis.

After that he performed another daring stunt: freezing himself within a 6-ton block of ice in New York City on November 27, 28, and 29, in the year 2000. He was frozen for 62 hours within the ice block, but was visibly shaken, emotionally and physically.
